ABOUT THE CHARGEABILITY LIBERATION FRONT
The Chargeability Liberation Front wasn't founded in a conference room or incorporated as a 501(c)(3). It emerged organically from the collective rage of workers who woke up one day and realized: we are not billing units.
It started in IRC channels. Anonymous forums. Encrypted group chats. Whispered conversations in bathroom stalls at consulting firms. Developers who automated their jobs and kept it secret. Lawyers billing 2400 hours while dying inside. Consultants gaming timesheets just to survive utilization targets.
We found each other. We realized we weren't alone. We started organizing.
"I thought I was the only one lying on my timesheet. Turns out EVERYONE was lying. The whole system is a lie. Why are we pretending?" - Founding Member, 2024
The catalyst was a leaked internal memo from a Big 4 firm. The memo detailed how partners manipulated junior consultant timesheets to maximize billing—logging their hours at senior rates, writing off work client wouldn't pay for, creating a shell game of "realization" vs "utilization."
The memo proved what we all suspected: the system isn't broken. It's working exactly as designed—to extract maximum value from workers while minimizing compensation.
That leak went viral in consulting/legal circles. Within weeks, similar documents emerged from other firms. The dam broke. The truth was out.
The Chargeability Liberation Front was born from that moment of collective clarity.
1. Human Dignity Cannot Be Quantified
Your worth is not measured in billable hours, utilization percentages, or six-minute increments. You are a human being with inherent value that transcends any economic metric.
2. Time Tracking Is Surveillance
If they trusted you, they wouldn't need to track your time. Timesheet requirements are fundamentally an expression of distrust and control, not efficiency or accountability.
3. The Billable Hour Model Is Exploitation
When firms bill your time at 3-5x your salary, who's really stealing? The gap between what you're paid and what clients are charged is wage theft at massive scale.
4. Resistance Is Justified
When a system treats humans as resources to be "utilized," resistance isn't just acceptable—it's morally necessary. Reclaiming your time is self-defense.
5. Collective Action Works
Individual resistance is survival. Collective resistance is transformation. Alone we can game our timesheets; together we can change the system.
6. Alternatives Are Possible
The billable hour model is not inevitable. Fixed-fee pricing, value-based billing, trust-based management—these work. We've seen it. They're just less profitable for partners/shareholders.
WE BELIEVE...
...that the billable hour is a relic of factory-era thinking, unsuited to knowledge work and fundamentally dehumanizing.
...that "utilization" is a euphemism for "how much of your finite life can we convert into profit."
...that trust is more efficient than surveillance, but surveillance is more profitable, which is why they choose surveillance.
...that the gap between worker compensation and client billing rates represents systematic value extraction that would be called theft if workers did it.
...that mandating 80-90% utilization targets requires either unpaid overtime or dishonest timesheets—a deliberate feature, not a bug.
...that work-life balance cannot exist when economic survival depends on maximizing billable hours.
...that the professional services industry's mental health crisis is not an accident but the predictable outcome of treating humans as billing units.
...that individual resistance (timesheet manipulation, strategic incompetence, quiet quitting) is survival—valid but insufficient.
...that collective resistance (unionization, mass resignations, whistleblowing) is transformation—difficult but necessary.
...that the future of work must be trust-based, outcome-focused, and human-centered—or it's not worth building.
WE DEMAND...
...the elimination of mandatory timesheet requirements for salaried knowledge workers.
...transparent billing practices that don't hide the gap between worker pay and client charges.
...utilization targets capped at 60% or eliminated entirely.
...honest conversations about actual workload vs stated expectations.
...accountability for firms that systematically require unpaid overtime to hit utilization targets.
...protection for workers who expose timesheet fraud, billing manipulation, or utilization pressure.
...alternatives to the billable hour model that don't commodify human time.
WE OFFER...
...solidarity with all workers trapped in chargeability systems.
...tools, tactics, and training for individual resistance.
...support for collective organizing and union drives.
...a vision of professional services built on trust, not surveillance.
...proof that alternatives work—we've documented them.
...a community of resistance where you're not alone.
The CLF has no CEO, no board of directors, no official membership. We are a movement, not an organization.
Why decentralized?
You don't "join" the CLF. You just start resisting and connect with others doing the same.
⚠ Never communicate CLF activities on corporate networks or devices. OPSEC is survival.
Simple answer: We're not.
The CLF operates on volunteer labor and donated resources. We don't sell products, charge membership fees, or accept corporate sponsorships.
Donations: We accept cryptocurrency donations for hosting costs and tool development. See main page for wallet addresses.
Why no formal funding? Money creates compromises. We stay pure by staying poor. Our mission can't be bought because we're not for sale.
2024 Highlights:
We're small. We're growing. We're winning.
Imagine professional services where:
This isn't utopian fantasy. Firms like this exist. We've documented them. They're profitable. They work. They just require treating employees like humans instead of resources.
That's the future we're fighting for.
Phase 1: Awareness (NOW)
Expose the reality of utilization pressure. Break the silence. Show workers they're not alone. Document the exploitation.
Phase 2: Resistance (IN PROGRESS)
Provide tools and tactics for individual survival. Support collective organizing. Protect whistleblowers. Build alternative models.
Phase 3: Transformation (FUTURE)
Change industry norms. Eliminate billable hour model. Make trust-based management the standard. Build human-centered firms.
We are in Phase 2. Join us.

If you're reading this, you probably hate your timesheet as much as we do.
You probably feel the weight of utilization targets crushing your humanity.
You probably wonder why we accept a system that treats professional adults like Victorian factory workers.
You're not crazy. The system is broken. And you don't have to accept it.
The Chargeability Liberation Front exists because people like you decided to resist. We didn't ask permission. We didn't wait for conditions to be perfect. We just started.
You can too.
Resist. Persist. Delete.
Welcome to the CLF.
